Kansas and Its Phantom Districts Nab Stimulus Money

There has been significant proof that money reported on the federal government’s website, recovery.gov, did not actually reach legitimate taxpayers or actual job-creating projects. According to Brian McMorris of the Watchdog Network, these undirected funds totaled $6.4 billion.

Kansas is just one of the states whose nonexistent districts received a considerable chunk of change. Recovery.gov initially claimed that these phantom districts were the beneficiaries of nearly $7 million in stimulus money. The Kansas Watchdog has followed this story and recently discovered that recovery.gov nixed their mentions of the dollars’ presence in the Sunflower State.
